It's a woman's backpack and she is a woman. I don't care what you think, you're not a woman. You don't need to summarize or tell us what she is thinking. I had to stop watching. I am sorry if there was better content later.

It's just an app. You still need to use your head to navigate. I used the app for 6 months for free and then I started a yearly subscription. That was 3 years ago. I would recommend it. But remember, just because it shows a trail, it doesn't mean there is a trail.

Always great to see a Mystery Ranch fan clue others in on the magic they make. I've used them for 20 years now and today, a year on from this video, I use the Radix line of lighter-weight backpacking packs they make. They run on average about a pound lighter and ten litres more in capacity for a given pack in the Bridger series. I own some of both and all are outstanding gear. Thanks Eric!

I got very severe Lyme, the tick was on my arm for no more than 45 mins, hadnt even burrowed into the skin. Ive been around the block a few times with Lyme. Full body paralyzed for 6 months, housebound the first 3.5 yrs. On deaths door several times. Medical Medium / Anthony William protocol has had a huge impact on my health. Got me out of the wheelchair. Forever grateful for him, ck it out. Blessings

My high school gym teacher taught me in the 1970’s, if you take care of your lower back the rest of your body will be in great shape. I have never forgotten that lesson. I do lower back exercises at least three times a week. I have never had a back problem in my entire life as a result.

so sorry that happened to you Eric! Here in the PacNw we got them quite a bit. I have a pretty healthy respect and spay my clothes, exposed skin and backpack/gear pre hike. Post hike inspection is key. I hope you fully recovered??!!

Plus they put it on sale a few times a year. Definitely worth it at the sale price if you're not out there too often. Also phones are waterproof now, so no worries about them getting wet.

I'm going into Homelesness.. and all i got is a 50 pound backpack and tools on my belt. im currently in Massachusetts. but i want to go somewhere warm for winter.. some place like.. Texas.. or Florida.. or California. I dont care about trails because i was born in a very woodsy area. i have no tent either. just a sleeping bag. but my goal is to hopefully stumble my way into Acting and Stuntwork.

Agreed on all points! Thanks for this vid Eric. It's a great reminder that the point is to be out there instead of distracted by our gear, especially electronics! For power management I carry a headlamp with spare swappable batteries, my inReach (off until needed), my phone (off unless needed) and a paper map as a backup.

Great video! I paid $60 for 3 years of AllTrails+, and I don't regret it all. I do enjoy using it. I was initially confused by your video because you didn't mention the ability to create custom routes, which to me, is the biggest advantage of the subscription along with offline maps. You didn't mention it, of course, because it's a free feature, which I've only now discovered **facepalm**. While I have no issues with AllTrails, my 3 year subscription is up in a few months, and I think I'm gonna give onX Backcountry a spin.

Cover the coat, layers, hats, gloves, tent, body warmers. You started well the mattress, the bag. 0° for °20 plus, 0 , a minus 20 bag good. Try a heat reflection, base layer thermarest. You'll think you slept in a heated house

There are a lot of “trails” on AllTrails in my area that either don’t exist, or are on private property with no notice in the app. This has proven quite frustrating!

One of the issues I've had with AllTrails is that there's no way to discern the experience and level of the hiker leaving the review. A new, or inexperienced, hiker is often going to rate a trail differently than someone who is experienced.

You can go 8 days on a pair of underpants. Day 1 wear like normal, then back to front, then inside out, then back to front again, then swap with someone and repeat the process.

I think Alltrails is a much better navigation app than Onx Backcountry just because of how good the search feature allows you to go to an area and filter. For me I bring my pups with and Onx doesn't give you that option because not all trails allow dogs.

can you hike in Adidas ultraboost 22?

Technology is nice, but I always bring a paper map and compass. Phones break, battery goes flat, etc. Being aware of your route and area is crucial. A little preparation can help, but of course YMMV. When people are too reliant on technology, you're waiting for an accident to happen.

The one thing that drives me nuts about the user reviews is when people give a trail less than 5 stars and don't say why!!! But that's not AllTrails' fault. I do like the other features and love the 3D view of the trail the best!

I could ditch a lot of equipment but my Leatherman and full sized knife are absolutely NO GO! I couldn't count how many times multi tool saved me from going crazy, it's part of EDC, don't even bother with weight

I got a Gregory 80 liter mountaineering backpack 18 years ago, been taking it up and down the canadian rockies and all over BC and Alberta, it has floated in a lake, fallen off a cliff, been shipped full cross country a dozen or more times, still as great as the day I got it. Comfortable, highly adjustable, water PROOF of just resistant. 100% would recommend Gregory
